I am writing to enquire if it would be possible for you to send 1 or 2 large posters advertising the Exhibition to our school as we are taking part in a Torchlight Carnival in September 2007. The Theme this year is 'Peoples of the World' and our school has chosen to make 'The Ancient Egyptians'. We are currently making Mummy's, Pyramids and Pharoah Headresses, any help in this that you can give would be much apprieciated.

Thank You.

Good Morning,
Have you any idea when tickets will be available to buy on-line as we are trying to plan our trip from Yorkshire?

We would like to bring a party of school children (40 boys from Year 4) up to see the exhibition in June 2008. How can we book this and obtain tickets please?

We are looking to have a booking page for party bookings (10+ people) available over the next few days.

We are looking to come down from Lancashire to visit the exhibition during the new year and stay over for 2 nights with 4 young boys, will we be able to get tickets ?

Posted by Cristine Siemen on Tuesday,22.05.07 @ 10:45am | #24

Cristine, click on the "special deals" page.

We would recommend you try out the Greenwich Novotel because they do some "children stay free" deals.

Also remember that if you book accommodation you are guaranteed your entrance tickets as part of the price if booking through us.

Hi by registering our interest for tickets only, will we be able to chose the day we want to attend the exhibition or will we have to take what we are given? And.....if I book a hotel for say the 24 November will I definitely get tickets for the 24 or 25 November?

Posted by jill on Thursday,24.05.07 @ 09:46am | #27

Hi Jill,
If you book a hotel then tickets are included for the exhibition in the price for the day of your choice.

Tickets only are not on general sale yet and tickets cannot be guaranteed unless purchased with a hotel room.

Everyone who registers with an email address with us will be the first to know when tickets are available and you will be able to book your tickets with us in advance.

Because ticket demand is expected to be very high the only way at present of guaranteing a ticket is to book accommodation.
We are in telephone contact every day with the company who have been given the contract to supply tickets and we give them a nightly update on all emails we have for people who have registered email addresses who would like to buy tickets only without a hotel room.

There is a spelling mistake on the front page of your "latest news". You have "there" email addresses, and it should be "their" email addresses.

Many thanks Krystyna for spotting that.
Thats the problem with updating webpages in a hurry with so many teachers reading the site,we have no chance of getting away with such things.
Page has been updated, thanks for your feedback.

We are a coach operator from Leicester, and we will be running trips
to the exhibition from this area. We
have had an enquiry from a disabled
person who asks if she will be able to
use her mobility scooter to go around
the exhibition. We look forward to
hearing from you.

I had to do a lot of searching around to find the dates of the exhibition (Nov 2007 - Aug 2008?). I think it would be helpful to have them in a more prominent place. Or have I missed something?

Rosalind Broomhall

Thanks for the tip Rosalind.
We will add the date to every page.

REPLY FOR Karen Runagall Leic:

With its wide entrances and the flat street running through the Entertainment District The O2 is easily accessible for people with a disability and wheelchair users.

The buildings within The O2 have been designed to be fully DDA compliant so toilet blocks, lifts and public areas are designed for wheelchair use while The O2 staff have been trained to provide appropriate assistance on request.

Please email us if you require any help.

Will there be any special activities available for school parties or will it just be a case of looking at the exhibition?
Thanks

Hilton Hotels are offering VIP tickets for the exhibition as part of a room rate offer. My question is, do the VIP tickets give you access at a set time so you dont have to queue, as I will be a disabled visitor and cannot queue. As an 11 year old child I travelled from Scotland to see the first exhibition in 1972, and had to queue for 6 hours, but it was worth every minute. I have contacted Hilton, but as the tickets are not released they do not know, also what age do your children tickets go up to.
Kind regards

Amanda Steel

Hi Amanda we have the following information:

What's included in the Hilton package:
Fast track access to the exhibition.

We are looking in to the ages for childrens tickets.
Sorry we have no further information at this time.

I have clicked on the link for the Greenwich Novotel which you recommend but at no point do i see any reference that the price shown for 2 Adults and 1 child for 2 nights stay includes tickets to the exhibition, can you please confirm that if i book the room i will get 3 tickets.

Many thanks Keith.

Posted by Keith Swadling on Tuesday,24.07.07 @ 14:46pm | #70

Yes all hotel bookings include tickets when booked through the special Tutankhamun links on the site.

Posted by admin on Tuesday,24.07.07 @ 14:47pm | #72

I registered on your site for tickets a few months ago.

I have now noticed that you can pre book if you book a hotel package.

I want to visit the exhibition on 15th November as that is my wife's birthday but notice all the hotel dates don't start until 24th November, does that mean that all tickets to the exhibition on the 15th have now been sold.

Robert we have only been offered tickets for sale with accommodation starting from the 24th November 07

It seems a real shame that the exhibition opens very shortly after the school holidays are over. It does seem like very poor timing.

Posted by pamela smith on Wednesday,15.08.07 @ 16:20pm | #116

I agree about the timing Pamela.

unfortunately London is a set date in a world tour that is just finishing in Philadelphia usa.

Posted by Admin on Wednesday,15.08.07 @ 16:22pm | #117

Hi Are these the original treasures from Cairo, or are they similar/same as the ones in Dorchester at the moment.

Posted by GLENYS on Wednesday,15.08.07 @ 16:23pm | #118

All treasures on display are from the tomb of Tutankhamun.

Posted by Admin on Wednesday,15.08.07 @ 16:24pm | #119

Tickets for the Tutankhamun Exhibiton are selling fast for entry at weekends up to the end of 2007.

If you can only visit on a Saturday or Sunday please book asap to avoid disappointment

Posted by admin on Sunday,16.09.07 @ 02:18am | #271

I have probably missed something on the site but I was hoping you could give me an idea as to how long the tour will take? Is it specifically timed in each area or are we free to wander?

I ask as we are bringing an extremely interested 6 year old who would probably spend all day viewing and an almost 4 year old who has a short attention span! We wanted to be able to set some sort of itinerary if possible to please all!!

Posted by Helen Wilkinson on Monday,17.09.07 @ 05:49am | #277

Is there a time limit?

There is no time limit on how long you wish to view exhibition; you may stay as long as you like during the normal opening hours.
